Over 40 golfers took to Blankney Golf Club on Friday 16th of September for a fun-filled day in the late summer sunshine. Organised by Lincoln Business Club, and kindly sponsored by Pepperells Solicitors and ourselves at One Stop Business Finance, eleven teams took to the course to enjoy their first Golf Day and Summer Social with local charity partner, St Barnabas.
Set in the heart of rural Lincolnshire, the beautiful parkland golf course at Blankney was the idyllic setting for a day of networking, golf, and activity to support the deserving charity.
St Barnabas Hospice is a local independent charity that every year supports more than 12,000 people across Lincolnshire affected by a life-limiting or terminal illness.
The charity delivers free, high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients, their families and carers.
In total, the teams helped in raising an amazing £1,700! This will enable St Barnabas Hospice, to provide vital care and support to patients and their families throughout Lincolnshire every day of the year.
A further 20 guests attended the ‘Summer Social’ and enjoyed a prize-filled raffle, and a delicious meal, with thanks to the team at Blankney Golf Club. Many Thanks to all those who kindly donated raffle prize and sponsored a tee.
Caroline Swindin, Fundraising Development Manager at St Barnabas Hospice, said: “We are delighted to have been the chosen Charity Partner for Lincoln Business Clubs first Charity Golf Day which was such a huge success both in terms of helping to raise vital funds to support the continued work of the Hospice and awareness of the diverse range of care we deliver.
It was fantastic to see teams coming together for a great day on the green, enjoying the late summer sun whilst networking with other Lincolnshire businesses; it has been a pleasure to work collaboratively together with you all; thank you for your incredible support.”
Due to the success of the day, the local businesses are looking forward to enjoying the ‘Golf Day and Summer Social’ as an annual event to help in both supporting and raising money for a chosen charity partner.
